How it Happened....

We bought the ring about a month before he proposed. We had been shopping before, but decided to choose something closer to home. We walked into Kay one Sunday, and looked at rings. Nothing blew us away, but the sales girl told us about the Dana Augustine Event they were having the next weekend. As we shopped other stores, we couldn't find anything that we truly found unique (or stores that took trade-ins- more on that later). So Saturday we visted Kay again, and began choosing my ring. They had about 150 different settings, and we were able to look at them and place the fake diamonds into the settings. It was to say the least awesome. We settled on the band and then our salesgirl showed us setting the diamond as Kite. We loved it, and decided to go for it. What was pretty cool about the event, was the jeweler set and sized the ring right there. So after trading in the former fiances ring (yes he was engaged before- but everyones says I'm a upgrade), my ring was set and we left. But the story doesn't end there....

After a few weeks of the ring being in the closet, we decided instead of going to the UCF V Miami game to have an adventure day. We chose Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales. After wandering the Boktoberfest vendors we decided to wander the gardens. Ed was insistant that we find the White Garden, it took us quite a while to find it, but finally we did. He came up behind me and asked if I could see myself getting married there, how about engaged? He pulled out my ring and asked me to marry him. It was sweet, and wonderful. I am sure you are wondering if he got down on one knee, but No. He asked if I wanted him to, but I am not someone whos dreamed of my guy being on one knee, especially because it was a special event, and there were people walking through the garden, and I didn't want it to ruin the private moment. We all know how people react when the see a guy on bended knee proposing.
